Hi Reader
This has been coming up a lot in my coaching sessions the last couple of weeks.
Talking with men and women in their 40s who are hard-working moms and dads, who care to be performing at work and at home, I saw this:
Wanting to be consistent with eating well - but sabotaging yourself with junk food because you want to give yourself something you deserve.
Wanting to consistently take time to go for a walk during the day - but switching from task to task from 9am to 5pm eating lunch in front of the computer without a proper break.
I know what it's like to feel like you can't afford to take the break.
Because everything feels so urgent.
Or because you think you will fall behind if you take 30 minutes at lunch time.
And with that, I was reminded that being consistent with healthy habits does not always have to do with
more willpower
better discipline
more free time,
but in fact has to do with creating boundaries.
Drawing the line in the sand of your calendar between 12:30 and 1pm.
So you can have nutritious lunch.
And go for walk.
In this episode, I share 3 examples of boundaries I often suggest to people I coach who are in their 40s around alcohol, exercise and work, so they have space for themselves in their day.
And it was a valuable reminder for me too.
So I'm right there with you friend!
Talk soon.
